This summer brings a new landmark outside of the green office building: North House's natural dye garden. Inspired by former instructors and tended by stalwart volunteers. As the season slips away here's a look at its late summer blooms.

Basket Week starts today! Featuring classes, free evening activities Wednesday-Saturday and Basket Gathering day on Friday, October 7. The evening activities and Friday seminars and mini-classes are open to the public.

Jane Laurence has an article on Knutkorg in Northern Wilds. "Knot" baskets were plentiful in Scandanavia in the 1800s. Immigrant laborers fell back on their craft when the USA failed to provide dignified living conditions.

North House wants to host courses accessible to anyone. Scholarship applications for the latest course release close tomorrow, 9/30. Work Study is another way to pitch in and earn course credit while saving money.
