Spring Has Sprung

Shedding jackets, mittens and scarves a bit early this year, it seems we've been robbed of winter. Though disappointing to the skiers, the more than mild mid-March weekend was perfect for throwing open the doors and windows and welcoming the breeze. Those in Paul Linden's course, Make a Steambent Firewood Carrier enjoyed the view and fresh air as they used hand tools to shape the cross braces for their handsome new wood carriers.

Meanwhile in the cozy upstairs of the fish house, students were busy beading beautiful Aniishiinaabe-Style Moccasins in Marcie McIntire's class.

The weather may be unseasonably warm, but we won't complain. Already the phone is ringing off the hook with questions about sailing season. The weekend was lovely, and it's only the beginning.
