Unplugged returns this fall, September 19-20, 2025, with a fantastic harborside gathering that celebrates the craft, community, and mission of North House. This year's event includes a spotlight on basketry as we welcome Hege Aasdal as one of our Featured International Instructors!

Norwegian basketmaker Hege Iren Aasdal is passionate about producing baskets directly from nature, passing on traditions and knowledge both about the processing of materials and about weaving techniques. She has a journeyman’s certificate as a basket maker and completed a research fellowship at the Norwegian Institute of Handicrafts. She teaches a variety of classes, harvests and prepares materials, and continues her research from her home in Steinsø, Norway. This is her first trip to teach in the US.

While here, she'll be teaching three Norwegian basketry courses during Unplugged. More details about Hege's courses will be released on May 23—stay tuned!

We're also honored to welcome Kenta Watanabe as a Featured International Instructor at Unplugged 2025—learn about Kenta here
