Late June I brought some of my paintings, trunks, beaded jewelry, acrylic tables, and Dala horses to Vesterheim Museum in Decorah, Iowa. I am very thankful for my current exhibit there, Boreal Ornament V. It will be on display through September, I hope you can make the journey there!

It is a beautiful drive just across the Minnesota border in the driftless region. For the craft beer enthusiast there are local breweries, and Decorah’s main street is very cute. Vesterheim Museum boasts a new addition and gallery space, as well as an outdoor museum and beautifully curated grounds. If you travel there by July 27 you will also have a chance to see the National Norwegian-American Folk Art Exhibition, with work by contemporary folk art artists from all over the country.

I look forward to teaching at Vesterheim in mid-August, there are still some spots left in my Gudbrandsdal Rosemaling class and Boreal Rosemaling class, found here.
