North House Folk School

Author of Lichens of the North Woods, Ferns & Allies of the North Woods, and Mosses and Liverworts of the North Woods, Joe Walewski has dedicated his career to connecting people with the wonders of the natural world. He has been an integral part of Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center since 1988, including serving as the long-term Director of Naturalist Training. A lifelong educator and researcher, Joe specializes in the region's botany and phenology, fostering a deep, relational understanding of the North Woods ecosystem.
