Jess is a sculptor with a strong love for utilitarian objects. Her visual art practice is intertwined with wellness and alternative medicine, making objects that heal the body. She began spoon carving a decade ago and studied bowl turning through a Minnesota State Arts Board Folk and Traditional Craft Grant. She is the founder of Fireweed Community Woodshop (formerly Women’s Woodshop), a space to empower women and non-binary makers through woodcraft. Learn more at fireweedwoodshop.org.
