Beth Carter Gautsch
Beth’s journey into jewelry began with an appreciation for handcrafted items and a keen eye for detail. Drawn to the unique voice each artist brings to their work, she found jewelry to be a meaningful creative outlet beyond the fast-paced, high-pressure world of advertising. Over the years, Beth honed her skills through advanced classes at renowned institutions such as Penland School of Craft in North Carolina, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Tennessee, and goldsmithing and jewelry courses in Florence, Italy. Countless hours in the studio allowed her to refine her craft and transform learning into artistry. She now shares her expertise at respected institutions including the John C. Campbell Folk School in North Carolina, North House Folk School in Minnesota, and South Carolina Art Centers. Beth delights in introducing students to the craft of metalsmithing, guiding them in learning new skills and tapping into their own creative voice. Her work—crafted in sterling silver, gold, enamel, and copper is adorned with semi precious stones and pebbles collected from her travels to the beaches of North Carolina, Italy, and the North Shore of Lake Superior. Beth’s jewelry has been featured in juried art shows, sold at regional and local events, and is available at the Art Gallery on Pendleton Square in Pendleton, South Carolina. She lives in Anderson, South Carolina with her husband and their beloved golden, Hannah.
