Blacksmithing & Toolmaking
Forging Tools for the Kitchen
Course Overview
In this class, students will start out making smaller projects the first day as they learn the fundamentals of managing a coal fire, understanding hammer control, and using jigs. The second day, students will continue to refine their skills with more complicated projects and free time to explore their ideas. Items that will be demonstrated include skewers, forks, spatulas, spoons, ladles, cheese slicers, and bottle openers. Students will work with both steel and copper to complete their kitchen utensils.
