Kids’ Courses

Felted Dioramas for Families: Make a Scene!

Course Overview

Make a diorama of a story you choose! Adults and child/children work together to create one scene that will include: the background needle felted scene, two or more 3-d characters, two or more wet felted hand or finger puppets.

Children must be at least 6 years old to participate in this course and be accompanied by an adult. The tuition rate covers one adult/child pair or a trio of one adult and two children, or two adults and one child.

Required Tools

  • A couple of hand towels
  • One large towel

Optional Tools

Participants are encouraged to bring your favorite illustrated books, photos to inspire or sketches of what your diorama may be. Please bring a 3-d container (could be a metal tin, a wooden box, a bread box etc. no bigger than 2'x2') you would like to use for your diorama.  If you don't have something, I will have cardboard boxes or a few other random boxes to choose from. If you have bubble wrap with small bubbles and pieces larger than 1’x1’ (the bigger the better) lying around, this is a great time for reusing it.
