North House Folk School

With a love for living in rural northern communities, Susan taught elementary school for 43 years in both Minnesota and Southeast Alaska. After retiring and as an avid student at North House Folk School, she built a home in the area to be closer to the school. Her passion for teaching, learning and working with youth led her to North House's new position working with youth and families. Besides taking courses and working at North House, she enjoys hunting for wild mushrooms, agates and any interesting rocks  as well as gardening, canoeing, and cross country skiing.
