Cathryn has been lovingly restoring antique wicker furniture and rescuing broken chair seats for over 40 years.  She developed a passion for basketmaking with antlers and natural materials in 1990 while living in southern Minnesota. Cathryn has created one-of-a-kind woven antler basket sculptures using basketry techniques for her clients that reflect the rustic elegance of nature giving them an "up North" spin.  She delights in sharing her years of accumulated knowledge and resources to perpetuate the nearly lost art of chair caning.  And loves watching the creative juices flowing with students in her antler basket classes.  Now a 15-year resident of northeastern Minnesota, living in Angora, she is a studio artist weaving and hand-gathering materials from her rural property. Cathryn's  works have appeared on public television, and in books, periodicals and national galleries and she teaches nation-wide.
