Wet Felting to Keep you Warm: Hats, Slippers, & Mittens

Course Overview

The natural fibers of wool are still the best material for a cold keeping you warm in a cold Minnesota winter, with the added bonus of being beautiful. Hats, mittens, slippers all use the same technique of felting wool over a resist and sculpting the wool into a three dimensional shape to fit you. Choose a project and learn from everyone in the class.

Skill Levels: Beginner to Advanced
Hours: Day 1: 9am-5pm Day 2: 9am-noon
Tuition: $160.00
Materials fee: $35.00
Additional materials fee paid to instructor when class starts: add'l fees may apply if a large project is selected

Required

You will need the following tools for this class:

  • two large towels
     

Optional Tools

  • Feel free to bring your favorite tools and whatever materials you might feel appropriate for this course. Bring any special yarns or wool you have.
  • Bubble wrap (small bubbles), approx: 3'x3'
  • bar of soap
  • thermos for hot water
