Pebble Prongs, Captures and More
Course Overview
This is a class for collectors of pebbles and other small treasures who want to turn their interesting pieces into jewelry without drilling holes in their stones or small treasure. In this four-day class you will learn the best prong setting for different shapes -- from smooth cabochons to irregularly shaped pebbles. Students will learn how to form and solder sterling silver wire in a variety of configurations and sizes to capture pebbles or treasures. Our focus will initially be on learning a variety of prong and tab setting methods and basic soldering skills. We will turn your North Shore treasures into wearable art. As the workshop progresses students will have the option to fabricate their own prong design or they can flex their fabrication and soldering skills to create a hollow form and pebble element. The workshop is beginner friendly but open to all skill levels. All tools are provided. Sterling silver and other metals will be available for purchase at the time of the class. A materials fee of $55-$75 will be due to the instructor at the time of class.
