Monarda Thrasher
Monarda is an intuitive folk herbalist, medicine-making, story-weaver, and educator. They have studied herbalism and fermentation since 2007 and began teaching about plants in 2012. Moving around the Anishinaabe, Ho-Chunk and Dakota lands of the Upper Great Lakes area, they have established many medicine gardens for people and critters, for friends and communities. At North House, they have found a passion for empowering folks to realize their own gifts, whether in the kitchen or garden. Their educational focus is making traditional herbal techniques and practices more accessible, so that learners can practice herbal crafts in their own homes. Their work is cross-pollinated with story-telling, social and environmental permaculture, spiritual herbalism, and healing justice.
