North House Folk School

Matt grew up on the Big Lake in Duluth, MN. After graduating from St. Olaf College, he bounced from coast to coast, first working aboard Pete Seeger's 110’ sloop, Clearwater, on the Hudson River and then for The Center for Wooden Boats in Seattle, Washington. After two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in land-locked Paraguay, he returned to his home on the North Shore of Lake Superior and had the rare distinction of being a North House intern…twice. Whenever he’s not managing programs for North House, he’s in the shop or on the water.
