Layne Kennedy
Layne has been instructing at North House for almost two decades. He is a nationally-recognized magazine photographer shooting assignments around the globe for publications like Smithsonian, Terre Sauvage, Islands, National Geographic Traveler, National Geographic Adventure, National Geographic Book Division, Outside, and Newsweek to name a few. His recent books include, Paddle North-Canoeing The Boundary Waters/Quetico Wilderness and A Hard Water World-Ice Fishing And Why We Do It, both by the prestigious Minnesota Historical Society Press. His previous book, Jewels on the Water-Lake Superior's Apostle Islands, was published in part to secure protected status of this National Lakeshore. Along with assignment work, Layne conducts photo tours around the globe exploring cultural and environmental locations in such places as Kenya, Cuba, Portugal, Costa Rica, Iceland, Greenland, Croatia, Ireland, and others. Layne has taken numerous courses at North House including woodturning and making your own Ukulele.
