Lars Mørch is a full-time blacksmith who specialized in Viking-Era toolmaking. He runs  Mørch’s Smedie, a tool smithy in northwest Denmark. Since childhood, history and traditional crafts have played an important role in Lars’s life. He thrives on working with his hands to get by in a rural lifestyle. He grew up spending summer days trying to re-enact the life of our ancestors and notes that solving simple everyday tasks just makes him happy. Forging steel to create hand tools combines his passion for DIY ingenuity and his work. Lars has taught forging classes for many years, trying to share the joy and challenges of this craft with others and teaches with focus on process more than finished product. His hope is to inspire students to forge further in their own workshops. This is his first trip to the US.
