Josh has been building and restoring wooden boats professionally for nearly 20 years. He first began learning his craft at the International Yacht Restoration School, a two year vocational school in Newport, Rhode Island in 2000. From there, he worked for two seasons as the boatbuilder in residence at the Adirondack Museum. He’s taught at UW Madison, The Great Lakes Boatbuilding School, and spent the fall of 2006 working at the Hardanger Fartoyvernsenter in Norheimsund, Norway.
Josh lives with his wife and two sons. His focus these days is on new boat construction, harvesting and milling boat timber, and workshops.
