Course Overview

Modify the traditional craft of basketweaving into a fashionable fanny pack. In this multi-day class, students will learn both weaving and leatherwork skills. Learn about the harvest and process of birch bark by processing raw material into usable weavers to make the base pouch of a small belt pack. Students will design a template for the pouch flap, rivet buckles, and stitch leather before assembling their own unique woven fanny pack. No prior weaving experience is needed, but students will need good hand strength and finger dexterity. This class is open to students ages 16 and up.
