Course Overview

Flat wet felted chair cushions and potholders are simple and useful pieces of art for the home.

Each chair cushion (seat cozy) or potholder you make is like a blank canvas you design. No artistic skill is necessary, just a willingness to play with wool and color. Beginning with beautiful materials, every piece is guaranteed to be a success. Students will learn about surface designs using prefelts, yarns, needle felting and layering/mixing wool and how to wet felt your projects so they are very durable. Local fiber and natural colored wools will be available as well as a great variety of color and wool from different sheep breeds. Plan to make a number of items. These will make wonderful gifts.

Be prepared for physical exertion and being on your feet for this project.

Ages 12+ may register for this course.
