Course Overview

Start your holiday season off with a weekend on the North House Folk School campus weaving traditional and contemporary ornaments from birch bark. Explore a range of birch bark weaving, from the simple bead to the 3-dimensional birch bark star. Working with colorful embellishments, students will create a small collection of ornaments to share with family and friends by the completion of this course.

All required tools/materials are provided by your instructor and North House and will be available once the course begins.

Optional Tools

Feel free to bring your favorite tools and whatever materials you might feel appropriate for this course. Beads or other embellishments to include in your ornaments are nice to have on hand, though the instructor will have choices available as well.
