Viking Cooking: Open Fire Techniques

Course Overview

Set aside the Instapot and the sous vide machine for a day and explore the open fire cooking techniques of the 11th century Vikings. Daniel Serra, Viking culinary archeologist and raconteur, will teach students spit-roasting, cooking over coals, pit cooking, frying and cooking on hot stones, all the while telling the stories and lore of the Viking era. Transferable to the next outdoor dinner party or an upcoming camping trip, this will prove to be a fascinating and delicious day of exploration and learning.

Daniel Serra is a Featured International Guest Instructor, brought to North House in partnership with The Viking Connection (www.vikingconnection.org). As part of his time on campus, he will be demonstrating and speaking during the Unplugged Festival Weekend.
