Woodworking & Furniturecraft

Twig Tables

Course Overview

Making something useful from brushwood is an incredible and empowering experience. Students tend to find they see the world with new eyes. With just a little imagination, shrubbery and small trees turn into tables, footstools, and shelves. During this two-day class, students will make at least two small tables using provided native alder and willow brush, and also have a field trip to identify (and harvest) other trees and brush species. The tables will be constructed using a variety of rustic twig furniture joinery techniques, including the woven and entwined method and the nailed or screwed stick method.
