The Great British Baking Class

Course Overview

Ready, set, bake! The end of summer means the return of our favorite soothing baking competition, the Great British Bakeoff! This class is a chance to learn some of the classic British bakes that appear each season. Find out what makes a cake a Victoria sponge, what in the world Welsh bara brith is, and why genoise sponges are so tricky. Over the course of the weekend students will have a chance to bake and sample a variety of sweet and savory bakes and gain the skills to become the star baker in their house! If a student is unable to stand at a work bench, please notify NHFS so the instructor can set up a lower accessible work area. Students age 14+ are welcome to register. Youth ages 10+ may attend if accompanied by an adult. Adult/child pairs will complete one project and pay one materials fee.
