The Great British Baking Class

Course Overview

Ready, set, bake! This class is a chance to learn some of the classic British bakes that appear each season on The Great British Bake Off! Find out what makes a cake a Victoria sponge, what in the world Welsh bara brith is, and why genoise sponges are so tricky. Over the course of the weekend, students will have a chance to bake, sample a variety of sweet and savory bakes, and gain the skills to become the star baker in their house! If a student is unable to stand at a work bench, please notify NHFS so the instructor can set up a lower accessible work area. Students age 16+ are welcome to register.

Required Tools

  • Several containers for taking bakes home

Optional Tools

  • A favorite apron
