Sweet and Savory Pies

Course Overview

Like opening a present, slicing into a freshly-baked pie produces feelings of elation, excitement, and nostalgia. It’s a feat of tremendous self-control to wait long enough for a pie to cool to a safe enough temperature to dig in. At the first crack of the crumbly crust, we’re transported. There’s a magic to pies, and there’s a distinct honor in being deemed a great pie baker. Ready to earn your badge? Join chef Scott Graden, owner of the New Scenic Café, for a pie fest of fantastic proportions. Round out your pie-making skills with a sweet and savory extravaganza. Students will make three fruit pies, lamb pie, chicken pot pie, shepherd's pie, & three mystery pies. Start perfecting your bow. Blue ribbons may be in your future.
