Course Overview

The rigid heddle loom offers a wonderful variety of creative possibilities in a small, portable package. Learn to warp and weave on a Schacht Flip loom, and discover the ease of weaving beautiful pieces utilizing basic techniques. Each student will weave a small sampler to discover different techniques that can be inserted into their weaving. Then each student will weave a scarf, making use of what was learned in the sampler. A selection of different materials including cotton, rayon, wool, and silk will be available for their designs.

If time permits, students will be able to explore additional weaving techniques while creating another project.

This course is open to students ages 16+. No previous weaving experience is necessary. Students should have basic hand strength and mobility.
