Kitchen Table Pebble Jewelry Workshop
Course Overview
This workshop is designed for the hobbyist interested in making pebble jewelry without making a major investment in tools or materials. We will have fun making pebble jewelry using basic jewelry fabrication techniques, including soldering, using a jeweler’s saw, filing, and hammer forging using tools you can typically purchase at your local hobby or hardware store. Students will solder elements with a butane torch and create other designs using cold connections, such as tabs and rivets. It’s a great way to add a flash of copper or brass to your favorite small pebbles. You will leave with several completed projects, as well as a basic soldering setup (butane torch and soldering pad). A handy list of tools and materials will be provided for each project, giving you a low-cost way to keep creating at your kitchen table after you return home.
Good eyesight or magnification is needed for this class. All materials will be provided; the materials fee includes a butane torch and soldering pad. Sterling silver wire, brass sheet and wire, and copper sheet and wire will be available for purchase during the class.
Materials Fee: Approximately $75 - $100 payable directly to instructor
