Course Overview

This workshop is intended to give people who have experienced significant loss that could be from death of a loved one or pet, a job loss, a long-anticipated event that did not happen, or any other loss they are grieving, an opportunity to process that grief using their hands to create several pieces of jewelry using beginner metal fabrication techniques. We will start each day with intention and explore the ways jewelry can be used to tell our personal story. Students will learn basic metal fabrication skills including soldering, sawing, and even prong setting to create pieces that are unique and connected to the loss they have experienced. As a class, we will support each other, learn new skills and create links between our hearts, our heads, and our hands. All tools will be provided, and sterling silver and copper will be available for purchase at the time of the class. A materials fee of $55-$75 will be payable during class directly to the instructor.
