Woodcarving

Gnome Spoon Carving

Course Overview

Join longtime local woodcarver Bruce Futterer in carving his latest clever and whimsical endeavor, the gnome spoon. In this twist on tradition, Bruce combines two iconic Scandinavian motifs, resulting in a project that is fun to make and utilizes a variety of flat plane carving skills. Using a prepared basswood blank and a knife, students will carve and paint a project that will bring a smile to anyone’s face and no doubt inspire more creative carving mashups. Basswood blanks will be available for purchase during class ($5 and up).
