Fly Fishing: An Intro to Minnesota's Trout Lakes

Course Overview

Contrary to what you might imagine, fly fishing does not require rushing glacial streams and dramatic mountain backdrops. In fact, some of the best fly fishing for brook, brown and rainbow trout in Northern Minnesota and Canada is readily available in the lakes and ponds of the region. However, the strategies, flies and equipment required to be successful in these waters differ greatly from traditional skills for stream fishing with a fly. This course is designed to take some of the mystery out of stillwater fishing and introduce students to the world of fly fishing Minnesota’s trout lakes. North House offers a variety of fly fishing, fly tying and fly casting classes for those who take this course and decide they want to learn more. Beginners are welcome!
