Fiber Art
Felting for the Holidays: Online Course
Course Overview
A great class for beginners and fun for experienced felters. This class is composed of two sessions, three hours each on Wednesday December 2nd and 9th. In week one, students will learn about the tools, tricks and techniques of needle felting sculptural items while making a 3-dimensional snowman (or abominable bumble, your choice!). Students will also learn how to make a palm sized wet felted ball that will be decorated as an ornament or made into a more durable snowman. In week two, students will learn how to wet felt a red tomten hat that will top your creation of a tomten body or just a head, as you choose.
Students will be encouraged, but not required, to work on their projects during the week and show and share their work during the following session, as we learn from and inspire each other. All projects can be done in class, but the instructor will offer additional projects that can be worked on during the week. Elise says, “I don’t expect all projects to look alike and I look forward to seeing how each person uses the given materials in their own unique way.”
