Doughnuts!

Course Overview

There is nothing better than a fresh doughnut, and the best way to make sure they are fresh is to make them at home! We will start with the basics, raised and cake doughs, plus how to get the right fry on the doughnut. Students will have a chance to get more creative as we explore glazes and fillings, and we will dig into ways to take your doughnut abilities to the next level with more complicated pastry. Food allergen note: This class will include gluten, eggs, and dairy.

Skill/experience note: There will be options to keep things a little simpler for novice bakers as well as opportunities for experienced bakers to get creative.

Physical ability note: This class will include standing for extended periods of time, mixing dough by hand, and handling hot oil. Students who are unable to stand at a work bench should notify North House Folk School so that the instructor can set up an accessible work area.
