Woodcarving
Carving Facial Detail
Course Overview
Weathered lines on faces can tell a thousand stories…and present a challenge to any woodcarver. Face up to any fears you may have and spend two days carving eyes, ears, noses, mouths and beards with Bruce Futterer. Focusing especially on fishermans’ faces, Bruce will have a number of projects from which students can select, including basswood blanks shaped like antique fishing net floats, and a variety of wooden-handled utensils. For those interested, a multi-faced walking stick is a possibility as well. This two day course will provide ample time to engage in several projects, practice skills, and explore ideas. Beginners and advanced students welcome.
