Birding by Ear: Searching for Fall Migrants
Many birds have left the area for their wintering grounds, but while the number of bird species may have dwindled, the possibility of spotting rarities increases during the late fall migration. On this birding scavenger hunt, we will search the Lake Superior shoreline and adjacent land areas for waterfowl and other species. Dress for all kinds of weather!
You will need the following tools for this class:
layers of clothing (top and bottom)
skinny, lightweight gloves (and possibly another glove/mitten layer)
sturdy footwear that can get wet or muddy
cash (in case of inclement weather and we stop for warm drinks/food along the way)
Once registered, students will receive a confirmation packet in the mail that may offer additional optional tool recommendations and suggested reading.
