Birch Bark Wish Basket

Course Overview

Create a basket in the double woven Scandinavian style. This birch bark basket is woven up and then back down onto itself to create a sturdy yet flexible object. We will explore base shapes and rim designs before adding the "wish" beads. The beads are woven with a wish inside of each one, and then sewn onto the surface of the basket with either glass beads or leather.
