Bead Weaving: Deerskin Bag
Try your hand at a simple bead weaving project in this introductory course that teaches two distinct skills: bead weaving and leather sewing. This project is based on a traditional amulet-style bag design Marcie learned from her grandmother, intended to be worn as a necklace. Students will complete and embellish a 2”x2” lined deerskin bag in a lacy-netted bead design and begin additional projects The emphasis of these projects will be the bead weaving technique; the leather sewing will be completed ahead of time. A wide choice of seed bead colors will be available.

All required tools/materials are provided by your instructor and North House and will be available once the course begins.
Feel free to bring your favorite tools and whatever materials you might feel appropriate for this course.
