Baking for a Swedish Christmas

Course Overview

Settle into North House Folk School's teaching kitchen for a cozy day of baking. By the end of the day students will be prepared for a traditional Swedish holiday season! We will bake cookies and breads for the julbord buffet and make the saffron rolls traditionally served on St. Lucia Day on December 13. Throughout this course, we will share stories and traditions for a modern Swedish Christmas. Even though we will sample our goodies, students will go home with a bag of treats to share with family and friends.

This class uses gluten, eggs, and dairy.

Physical ability notes: Baking requires active standing, walking, and carrying items throughout a full day.

This course is open to students ages 16+. Youth ages 12+ are welcome to register with an adult. Adult/child pairs will complete one project and pay one materials fee. A 25% tuition discount applies to the youth registrant when registering with a full-paying adult; call to register.
