Course Overview

Have you made felt before and found yourself frustrated with the design?  The colors became muted and soft, the easily identifiable bird became a cloud?  This is a class for those who have made felt and want to focus on the details of design.  We will begin by studying a range of techniques used to create designs in felt rugs and then apply these as we make a series of samples. We will work on design ideas, make pre-felts, create templates, and put it all together as you make two small rugs. Students should understand the felt-making process and know how to lay out, wet down, and full felt on their own.
