Tuppor: Pompoms the Leksand Way
Course Overview
North House is thrilled to welcome Featured Instructor Kirsi Manni, a Swedish weaver and textile historian and conservator, to Unplugged 2026!
The Swedish Leksand folk costume is renowned for its elaborate ribbons and colorful pompoms that adorn apron strings, hats, and breeches, as well as the shoes of men and women. Learn how to create a “Tuppa” and attach it to a Leksand band to make a bookmark or key-ring.
Ages 12+ may register for this class independently. Youth ages 8-11 may register if accompanied by an adult. Adult/child pairs will complete two projects and pay two materials fees. A 25% tuition discount applies to the youth registrant when registering with a full paying adult; call to register.
