Intermediate Knitting Skills: Shaping Techniques

Course Overview

OK, knitters, so you have learned and practiced the basics. You are comfortable with knitting and purling. Using increases and decreases, you can do some basic shaping. Now take time to go beyond the basics and learn techniques that will improve your knitting skills and the fit and appearance of your projects. During the first part of this day-long class we will explore techniques to accomplish these goals. These will include: gauge, refined increases and decreases, short rows, gussets, shoulder bind-offs and sock heels and toes. Time permitting, students are encouraged to bring their knitting questions and conundrums to the class, and their own knitting "tricks" that have improved their knitting.
