Course
Historic Fish House Timber Frame Building Project
Course Overview
This spring, North House Folk School will wrap up the “Historic Fish House Timber Frame Building Project” - a volunteer service project designed to welcome the involvement of both experienced and novice timber framing enthusiasts. In each session, students play an active role in supporting the campus rebuilding effort while having a meaningful North House experience that includes hands-on skill development and community building. Under the guidance of North House timber framing instructors, participants will grind, chamfer, oil and create rafters and floor joists for the new building. Energy will also be invested in preparing floor decking, roofing boards and other project resources.
