Finishing Touch: Milkpaints For Woodworkers
Course Overview
The vintage look of milkpaint is a signature look for the traditional woodworker exploring historical finishes. The course explores the history and color palettes of milkpaint. The course explores the basic applications of milkpaint including the mixing, storing, blending and use of milkpaint as a stain or top coat. After exploring application techniques - including simulated wear and tear, burnishing, distressing using resists, crackle with heat, frying, or use of rottenstone - students get hands-on experience applying milkpaint to a traditional pipe box or cutlery tray to take home. Windsor chair students are welcome to use their finished chairs for this course.
