Students learn to carve and build a working duck decoy. Shape a decoy body out of cork, a decoy head out of white basswood (optional pre-carved head with glass eye, or pre-made plastic head). The body is sealed with a marine spar varnish/sawdust mixture. A wooden keel will be attached along with anchor line hardware. Course will also cover painting the decoy.
