Jewelry Construction: An Introduction
Instructor:
Todd Hawkinson
Course Overview
The scope of possibility for jewelry making is endless: across time, culture, and geography, humans really like shiny things they can wear. Build a solid foundation of jewelry fabrication skills in this introductory class. Learn to saw, solder, file, and polish fine metals, using fine sheet copper. These techniques have been used for hundreds of years, but each piece is unique to the maker. This course will include two pieces made from fine sheet copper: the first will be a design created by the instructor to teach specific techniques; the second piece will allow for creative freedom with new skills.
