North House Folk School

North House is canceling all courses and events from March 19 through April 12 to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and protect our students, instructors, staff, and neighbors. 

North House Folk School and the Grand Marais Art Colony are teaming up to offer a weeklong camp for 7-14 year olds. Spend half the day at the Art Colony, and half the day at North House!

At North House, we’re planning a week of sewing, dyeing, carving, and building--it’s an ode to our favorite meal: lunch! Students will work with wood and fibers to assemble a unique set of utensils and other lunch-wares. By the end of the week, students will go home with a new set of skills, a set of tools with which to eat lunch, and their very own hand-made lunch box--ready to pack their food into for many lunches to come. AM and PM session activities will vary slightly to be age appropriate.

Cost: $80 for youth residents of Cook County, $100 for others
