Playing and Singing in Harmony: Community Music Workshop

Program Overview

Saturday, May 3rd from 4:30-6pm in the Blue Building

Taught by multi-instrumentalists and educators Sean Hoffman and Ellen Coplin of the duo Bobcat Opossum, with our own local singing circle leader, Britt Malec! This workshop will guide participants to better understand playing and singing harmony through hands-on music theory and ear training. Bring your imagination and get ready to have a whole lot of fun learning a song and exploring how to hear harmonies and express them with your voice and instrument.  Free and open to the public! 

Bobcat Opossum is Sean Hoffman and Ellen Coplin. They draw inspiration and repertoire from traditional music across several genres including Irish, Americana, bluegrass, classical, and old time music.

 

 

Britt Malec is a skillful leader, bringing community together singing through the seasons. Britt guides the group in an approachable and comfortable way that is suitable for folks of all experience levels.
