January 23rd: Kaisa’s Enchanted Forest
Join us for a screening of Kaisa’s Enchanted Forest (86 minutes), a Finnish documentary film released in 2016. It tells a magical story about lifelong friendship, the age-old legend of Aurora Borealis, and a culture that was almost destroyed by the second world war.
Appropriate for all ages.
February 13th: Shepardess of the Glaciers
Time: 7:00pm
Join us for a screening of Shepardess of the Glaciers (74 minutes). This 2016 documentary film transports us to the far northern mountains of Ladakh, India, where Tsering, one of the last shepherdesses in this dry and desolate landscape leads her flock of 300 sheep and goats to graze on the Himalayan Plateaus.
April 9th: KONELĪNE: Our Land Beautiful - CANCELED
North House is canceling all courses and events from March 19 through April 12 to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and protect our students, instructors, staff, and neighbors.
Join us for a screening of KONELĪNE: Our Land Beautiful, a cinematic celebration of northwestern British Columbia. Set deep in the traditional territory of the Tahltan First Nation, this documentary captures beauty and complexity as one of Canada's vast wildernesses undergoes irrevocable change. An art film with politics, drama, and humour, KONELĪNE: Our Land Beautiful explores different ways of seeing - and being.
