Program Overview

Lunch and learn! Bring your own bag lunch and join us for our Brown Bag Lunch Series, learning about a different craft each time. All sessions are free and are from 12 - 1pm.

January 9th: Herring Skiff Project

Join Resident Artisan Josh Tolkan and Instructor John Beltman to learn about the year-long 2020 partner project between the Cook County Historical Society and North House to build a replica of a historic herring skiff. This boat will be representative of skiffs used by fisherman on the North Shore in the 1940s. Hear about the project in progress and learn how to get involved! Bring your own bag lunch. Location: Red Building, FREE!

February 20th: Woodturning with Marybeth Garmoe

Join woodturning instructor Marybeth Garmoe to learn more about this exciting area of craft. Marybeth will share about some of her current projects and interests in the woodturning realm and demystify the magic of making perfectly round wooden objects. Bring your own bag lunch.
