Samantha Martinez
Hayward, WI
Sam grew up along the shores of a small lake in northern Wisconsin. Her path has led her to work in seed conservation in the southwest, on organic farms, with a tribal environmental health program and ecological restoration cooperative in the pacific northwest, in native plant nurseries and community gardens, and cultivating bioregional herbalism and traditional handcraft in the Great Lakes region. She is grateful to have learned from many generous teachers. In recent years Sam spends her days as a K-12 art educator, infusing her teaching practice with earth-based media, ancestral skills, and critical multiculturalism.
